Monastery of Santa Maria de l'Estany

After an analysis and diagnosis of the monastery of Santa Maria de l’Estany, Grup Transversal has made a proposal for the uses and functions of the spaces.

The museographic proposal aims to raise awareness not only of the architectural heritage (a Romanesque church and magnificent 12th-century cloister) but also the history of the monastery, its close relationship with the dried up lake ("estany" in Catalan) and the town of l’Estany. The structure has been defined for the museum route, the areas, objects from the collection, scripts, museographic proposals, the assembly project defining the structure of each room, as well as all the graphic design and exhibition resources, including those of the areas of the upper cloister, where a interpretation area has been defined for the Moianès Ecomuseum.
