Grup Transerval proposes a unique interactive experience in which the public actually experiences what it's like to conduct the Orquestra Simfònica i Nacional de Catalunya or the Banda Municipal de Barcelona. On entering space 16 of the Music Museum, visitors can choose to conduct one of the two pieces on offer: "Ode an die Freude", better known as Beethoven's "Ode to Joy", performed by the symphonic orchestra, or the "Prelude" to the opera Carmen by Bizet, performed by the municipal orchestra.
The interactive program uses gesture recognition to provide visitors with the sensation that they're actually directing the pieces played by the musicians. The application also includes a speedometer that tells would-be conductors whether they're going at the right tempo.
The design of the museum space, with a platform and integrated lectern and a large projection screen combined with perfect sound quality, ensure this musical experience is fully immersive.
Grup Transversal was in charge of developing the concept, museography, graphic design, interior design, programming and start-up of this immersive kinetic interactive application that provides visitors with a great experience thanks to the optimal combination of all the resources available.
