Smart City Expo World Congress 2023

As part of the Smart City Expo World Congress, Grup Transversal was commissioned to design and produce an immersive and innovative experience to accompany the joint stand between the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO), a public organisation specialising in researching and promoting the science and technology of light, and the Catalan government. 

The aim of the activity was to raise awareness among the general public of the technological advances brought about by discoveries in the field of photonics and show the impact they'll have on the lives of those living in Barcelona and Catalonia in the not-too-distant future. Based on this premise, a futuristic approach was used for the experience to express the technological aspect, with the aim of being highly evocative and exciting. 

This goal was achieved by employing a very important audiovisual element: the interaction of the audiovisuals with digital programming, sequenced using LED strips placed throughout the space, as well as covering a large proportion of the surfaces with reflective materials. This resulted in an infinity effect which, combined with an vivid soundscape, created a great multi-sensory impression that enveloped visitors.
