Textile Colony, l’Ametlla de Merola
To visit l’Ametlla de Merola, Transversal created a tourist and cultural route allowing visitors to pass through the different corners of the colony, get to know its history and the cultural heritage which has shaped it for the last hundred years. This Cultural Tour consists of a set of informative panels and evocative scenes that help us understand which functions each space in the colony had.
The most innovative part of the tour, however, was the possibility it offered to discover, in a pleasant and attractive way, that the majority of the industrial colonies where not only places where people worked. Those living in the colonies knew how to create and transmit a rich and varied cultural life. Visitors discover interactively by activating the sensors which start up different devices: the Colony Choir, the traditional dwarf and giant dances, the noise of the school, the cinema and the theatre.
