An emotional, multi-sensory journey into the world of the Llobregat textile colonies

The Owner's Tower at Viladomiu Nou is a century-old building that was erected as a residence for the family that owned the colony, and it has been restored as an interpretation centre whose aim is to tell a part of the history and heritage of the textile colonies in the Alt Llobregat region.

Through the naïve and personal gaze of Teresa, the maid at the Tower, visitors learn first-hand about the power relations of the textile industrialists, whilst also hearing about the small, personal stories of the Viladomiu family. The year is 1906 and Teresa's voiceover guides visitors through the different rooms of the house, accompanying them on a journey back in time through portraits that come to life, projections on walls and glass, mirrors that reflect the past... an evocative visit to understand what life was like at the beginning of the 20th century in an industrial colony.

Transversal has been in charge of the design and production of the museum space which offers an immersive and sensorial experience through which visitors can discover the history of this emblematic building.
