"Land of salt, caves and rivers"

In 2022 the old Cal Torres factory in Sallent, located on the ground floor of the Torres Amat house, was restored and adapted to hold a new interpretive space that complements the museum on the first floor.      

On the occasion of its inauguration, Grup Transversal was commissioned to create a temporary exhibition dedicated to the Central Catalonia UNESCO Global Geopark, a sustainable social and economic development project which aims to conserve and raise awareness of the area's geological and mining heritage, involving 29 municipalities from the Bages region, 5 towns from the Moianès region and Collbató, in the Baix Llobregat. 

Located on the ground floor of the building, the exhibition covers the 40 million years of geological history of this area by means of graphic panels with large-format images, highlighting its geological, mining, landscape, historical, cultural, artistic and gastronomic heritage as well as its extensive biodiversity. This great wealth has earned it a place in the UNESCO Global Geoparks network, a group of 169 outstanding regions spread over 44 countries (2021).
