A large interactive model to represent Catalonia in 2050

Since the Habitat III conference, at which the United Nations proposed the New Urban Agenda to guarantee a more sustainable future for habitats, the Catalan government has been working on developing its own agenda. Since then, the government has worked on producing an agenda of the towns and cities known as Catalunya 2050, the result of a participatory process.
To explain the main aspects of this agenda, Grup Transversal has created a large interactive model that shows how, in 2050, Catalonia will be digital and climate neutral, with a balanced territory of greener, more prosperous and more democratic towns and cities.
This model was present at the Smart City Expo World Congress held in Barcelona from 15 to 17 November 2022, at the Catalan government's stand which was visited by more than 15,000 people. This interactive project challenges visitors who, thanks to cubes with sensors on the ground, can learn about the different projects being developed on a large LED screen at the front of the stand. It's estimated that around 5,600 people took part in this interactive resource over the 3 days.
